animation:finally done

I've finally done all animation for the first EpisodeDCMD:District Heights!
yay for me!

All that needs to be done now is write up the diolouge and add a few minor text effects and give credits where credits sre due.

as for when the full finalized episode is done, so far I'm going to put it up on my website and ill only be advertising it at www.Centerstorm.net [my favorite site] for mostly test screening purposes. While its stewing on the net I will be working on episode #2 and when thats complete ill post 1+2 on newgrounds as a huge double sized kick off event. from there it'll one episode at a time [assuming the toon does well] we will see.

Finally mapped the whole 1st episode

As of 3:34 of yesterday I did the final animation of the last scene in the first episode. There is one more scene that needs to be completed but the whole animation has been mapped and timed with the score. Now I can move on to the major soundFX, and text bubble phase. this thing is almost done...

Soo.... tired...

NEWSFLASH: Animation is hard work.

Seriously tho' this is killing me, I've been back at the concept table over and over again. I keep trying to find the best way to maximize the little time i have to get work done. Ironically THAT takes time as well...

FOR THOSE IN THE KNOW:

B4 I've been using bits and peices and pasting together the different symbols to make the figures, from there I shift them to form, for each frame. [Hanna Barbara syle]

the big advantage of this over [my usual] frame x frame drawn teqnique is that one I have the chacter built, thats it. I can use him and manipulate him as I please as many times as I want, I can even change the colours ofwhole elements after the scene has been finished. The down side is that its so limiting in movement and angle. And on a personal note: Another thing is I miss from frame x frame is the ability to just draw it. If the fig is off with the puppet is off, so much more planning and work is involved to make it work. In FxF if I can imagine it I just draw it...

Anyway...
I've still got a scene or two left to do in DC/MD:District Heights part 1 and I've moved onto the Pre-animation phase of the charcter designs for the Jolly Jack animation.

Stay tuned...

MAJOR shift in process...

I got the go ahead from the professor to make major changes to the production schedule.

With my limited time getting even more limited, I realized that I'm not going to be able to finish the first episode of District Heights by december [the end of the semester]. mostly due to the fact that it is almost a 7 minute animation and i still have 4 minutes left unanimated.

so the big decesion was to stop after the first half [where the animation has a "rest" gap] and that will be my due for the semester. I calculate that should be done in the next 2 weeks.

Now the big news is that I got aprooval for what Im going to be doing for the rest of the semester:

JollY Jack: Boy NinjaPirate [working title]

I'll have more details on the story in the coming weeks...

stay tuned.
